Sport has always played a monumental role in my life. Growing up, sport and exercise has always been a high priority. I believe in the life-changing benefits of functional fitness and my goal as a coach is to inspire individuals to make long-term lifestyle changes.

My father was one of few men in Australia to play rugby league professionally and fight as a professional boxer at the same time. Upon finishing his career he became one of Australia’s most renowned rugby league and boxing strength and conditioning coaches, specializing in mental toughness. As a young kid, growing up in this environment meant I developed an innate love for both rugby league and exercise.

During my teenage years I found success in both Rugby League and Touch Football, representing my region and my state on many occasions. The camaraderie and relationships you build through team sport are second to none. This I think is what has drawn me to Coyne SIPC and Crossfit Caesar. Being relatively new to the sport of Crossfit I have recognised the same community feel as that of a team sport and experienced the encouragement that fellow members provide!

Throughout my high school years, I was fortunate enough to represent Southern Queensland and Queensland in Touch Football and Rugby League. I was also lucky enough to receive minor sporting contracts with both the Gold Coast Titans and the North Queensland Cowboys during my late teenage years. I was a conservative hooker/halfback who loved to do the “tough stuff”, but never had the flare or natural ability to really succeed at a high level in rugby league. However, a number of years of elite level training, combined with the valuable experience passed down from my father, ignited my passion to pursue a career as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.

I currently live here on the Gold Coast where besides working at Coyne SIPC, I also work as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Tweed Heads Seagulls Rugby League Club. Additionally, I have recently completed my Graduate Diploma of Education and am teaching Health and Physical Education, Science, Mathematics and Rugby League at Palm Beach Currumbin State High School.

My passion as a coach lies in the realm of athletic development and mental toughness. Here at Coyne Sports Injury and Performance Clinic we definitely empower clients to achieve their goals through our specialised training methods and the unique conditioning it offers.
